Retired Holmes County Habitat for Humanity board member Millicent (Mil) Agnor is serving in the Peace Corp

Each year, our Holmes County Habitat for Humanity Affiliate, tithes 10% of donations we receive to Habitat for Humanity International. The money goes directly toward the building of Habitat homes throughout the world. This year is extra special as our tithe was designated to a build in Beius, Romania for the Petrus family. "How did we find this family?" you may ask. Well retired Holmes County Habitat for Humanity board member Millicent (Mil) Agnor is serving in the Peace Corp in Romania and made plans to work on this build. Once we heard of her involvement, we decided this is where we wanted to tithe this year. It is a wonderful thing to see exactly how our tithe was utilized! Mil is a very special person and we are glad to know she is happy and continuing her good work.

Our mission

Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with God and people everywhere, to develop communities with God's people in need by building and renovating houses so that there are decent houses in decent communities in which people can live and grow into all that God intended.

Hand-up not a hand-out

Hand-up not a Hand-out. Each family member over the age of 18 must contribute 200 hours of "sweat equity" prior to moving into their house. Twenty -five hours must be completed before their house is started. Once completed they pay an affordable monthly payment.
